Newcastle City Farmers Market

Established in 1999, the Newcastle City Farmers Market is the hottest spot to go in our city for things fresh produce and decadent treats. On every Sunday from 30 October to 18 December, come on down to Broadmeadow’s Griffiths Road where you’ll find a whole range of different products including organic fruit and vegetables, hand crafted pastries, and almost every kind of cheese under the sun.
76th Australian Jazz Convention

2022 marks the 76th year the Australian Jazz Convention will grace our city with it devine sounds and infectious style. After taking a pause during the pandemic, the AJC will spend a week transforming Newcastle into a jazz paradise. With a venue at Newcastle Town Hall, as well as spots all across the city, there will be plenty of places for you to come on down and listen to swing, bebop, funk and more!

Have some time to relax over the Christmas break? The new year is a great opportunity to head to Morisset Showground Markets. Held on the first Saturday of the month from 7:30am to 1:00pm, the markets are filled with a fantastic selection of jewelry, plants, crafts and just all round delightful bric-a-brac. On top of this, the regular Hunter Valley-Lake Macquarie Bird and Poultry Auctions are held from 9:00am with viewings earlier. You’d be chicken to miss it.
