Among the region’s suburbs, Islington stands out for its eclectic character, blending industrial and residential elements. Once a bustling centre for commerce, Islington now features a collection of homes on compact plots that are continually being improved and revitalised. Nearby Wickham mirrors Islington’s industrial vibe, offering a mix of medium- and high-density housing alongside
terraces and factories.

Maryville’s waterfront is lined with townhouses that have become highly sought after by younger couples. Carrington, affectionately known as ‘Carrodise’ by locals, is renowned for its miner’s cottages. Many of these have been transformed with stylish, architecturally designed extensions on smaller plots.

The heart of Carrington is centred around Young Street, where you’ll find popular pubs, shops, and cafés.

Tighes Hill has experienced significant growth in recent years, drawing newcomers with its ‘Inner-West’ lifestyle, proximity to shops and cafés, and several excellent primary schools.

Within the Throsby Creek Precinct, popular spots include The Flotilla and Elementa in Wickham, Praise Joe in Tighes Hill, and newcomers The Tipsy Italian in Islington and Duff’s Icecream in Wickham.
